After Google rolled out the security patch update for February, the said devices faced problems with Bluetooth connectivity. Recently, owners of the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL also had to deal with another problem related to the Bluetooth on their devices. Many users belonging to communities and forums of the Google Pixel and Nexus smartphones have discussed the problem after the Nougat 7.1.2 OTA update. The fix will be in the form of another update. Google has not yet acknowledged the problem, but once it notices the issue, it will probably offer a fix soon. Even a factory reset did not solve the problem in many cases. But they just got an error message while attempting to add the fingerprint again, with messages like the enrollment was not completed, the fingerprint enrollment did not work or they were asked to use another finger or just try again, or stated that the fingerprint hardware was not available and so on. Users considered that if they completely deleted their fingerprints and then added them again, it could help.
Some users tried rebooting and also clearing the cache, but with no effect. An error message shows up and it prevents the user from adding new fingerprints to their devices. Some users tried to fix the problem themselves, such as removing the current fingerprints and beginning all over again, but such DIY efforts have not been successful. The fingerprint sensors were not allowing access to the smartphones, but they were able to swipe down and get notifications and Moves gesture was also functional. The issue affects both the Pixel and the Pixel XL smartphones and also the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P made by LG. Some users of Pixel and Nexus devices found the issue after the aforementioned update. It is quite common to find such problems soon after an update is rolled out. The update seems to have caused issues regarding the fingerprint scanner.
